Harbin's location at the far northeast part of China put it at a disadvantage to attract more travelers to come, however, the place is quite worth a visit in winter due to its ice art and culture: various ice lanterns and sculptures render the place distinctive. Harbin is home to China's largest ski resort-the Yabuli ski resort.
